Iwasaki Hiromi 岩崎宏美 - Madonna Tachi no Lullaby 聖母たちのララバイ

When I was a child I often went to my cousin's home for play date.  That's when I first saw the name Iwasaki Hiromi (岩崎宏美) on my uncle's CD shelve.  I didn't listen to her songs back then but her name somehow made an impression.  In recent years, I heard Nakamori Akina's (中森明菜) cover for Iwasaki's Shishuuki (思秋期) on YouTube.  One song leads to another and soon I found this song recommended to me by YouTube.

I found it strange after reading the lyrics, although there's some truth in it.  The song uses a mother's love as an analogy to the love of woman towards man.  Man has always been a fighter. When he returns home, he wants is to be like a child, wrapped under the refuge of his Mom's warm arms.  And so, girlfriend or wife, a woman is both a lover and a mother.
