JUJUーSign (English Translation)

The other day, I found this on iTunes.  Loved it immediately.  Afterwards, I realized that I've listened to it before.  It was the theme song of the movie "Kirin no Tsubasa" (麒麟の翼), adapted from Higashino Keigo's (東野圭吾) mystery novel under the same name.  I believe it was played at the end of the movie, during the credits.  I probably have noticed how good it was but didn't bother to follow up.

I could only find this incomplete version on YouTube: http://youtu.be/T3JIY-Zxh24

Sign

Composer: Kawaguchi Daisuke
Lyrics: Makiho Emi

Powered snow has started to disappear on the sidewalk
Why did it do so to the extent that it even took away your frame?

Unaware, two hearts missed each other, as if
Sun and moon would never cuddle under the same sky
Even though I realized, there's no turning back

I miss you, I want to see you, I only want to see you
And thus I'm searching for your trace*
Places piled with our memories
One by one, I am now following

However, it's miserable, just miserable
Alone, I'm standing still again
Love I'm unable to convey
Remains held under my arms

Squeezed by the crowd, petrified
But you won't be stretching out your helping hands anymore

It's sorrowful, isn't it? Only after I've lost you did I realize your show of love
Your tenderness, your smiles
Casually, and boundlessly, colored my life

I miss you, I want to cry, I only want to cry
And thus I'm searching for your shoulder**
That deep warmth while you're holding me
I never realized it when we spent our time
Sorrowful snow fallen and piled onto the street
For once, and just once, if we're able to meet again
I would want to tell you
"I love you more now than before"

Be it twist of fate
Or stream of time
That strength to overcome without turning my eyes away
It's really you who taught me how

I miss you, I want to see you, I only want to see you
And thus I'm searching for your trace
Places piled with our memories
One by one, I am now following

It's certainly painful, just painful
Even if it turns into an endless journey
Because the sign of your love
I desire to seek

From here, I proceed with my steps

* The original Japanese word translates to "back", the body part, and so literally it would be "And thus I'm searching for your back."
** The original Japanese word translates to "chest".  But in English, it's natural to say "lend a shoulder to cry on," and thus the current translation.
